Applied Micro Circuits Corporation, or AppliedMicro (Nasdaq:AMCC - News) today announced the Triveni APM9689x product family, the industry’s smallest dual and quad port, low power 100/1000/10GBASE-T physical layer ICs (PHYs) with MACsec (Media Access Control Security engine) and energy saving modes such as EEE (Energy Efficient Ethernet) and WOL(Wake-on-LAN). Triveni is the first 10GBASE-T PHY to cancel interference due to walkie-talkies, cell phones and other wireless devices to solve a critical technology challenge for robust, high-speed Ethernet connections for the data center.
Cost effective 10Gbps Ethernet links are rapidly becoming critical in enterprise and data center applications. The 10GBASE-T technology provides up to 100m of data center cabling and offers a lower cost alternative to top-of-rack and short-reach optical solutions. A recent report by The Linley Group expects the 10GBASE-T market growth to accelerate in 2011 and could nearly double in annual revenue over the next ...
