1. Change is coming to the data center, but not all of it is as good as it sounds. Virtualization and cloud computing have been billed as the next wave for enterprise computing. Taken together these approaches can save a corporation big bucks, improve efficiency through better utilization of server capacity, and in many cases improve performance because they rely on the latest hardware and software. But while this is considered the foundation of the next-generation data center, there are limits to what virtualization and cloud computing can achieve.
