On Sunday night 60 Minutes did a story on high-frequency trading that included the first video we’ve seen of the interior of the New York Stock Exchange’s huge new data center in Mahwah, New Jersey. The 400,000 square foot facility was built by the exchange’s parent company, NYSE Euronext, to provide colocation space for traders seeking low-latency access to the exchange’s servers. As part of the 60 Minutes report, correspondent Steve Kroft and his producers put together a video offering a closer look at the NYSE Mahwah facility. The video runs about 5 minutes. It’s preceded by a brief ad, which may be followed by a delay (perhaps as long as 30 seconds) before the CBS video launches.
