HP to Build Massive Data Center in Sydney

Technology company Hewlett-Packard (www.hp.com) announced on Tuesday it plans to build a massive, $100 million data center in the suburbs of Sydney, Australia.
According to local media reports, the technology giant has submitted planning documents to the New South Wales government, requesting permission to construct the facility in Eastern Creek.
The construction process will generate 200 jobs and is estimated to take about a year to complete. Once built, the data center will have a staff of five full-time operations workers.
Located on the site of a former shale quarry, the data center project has still not been approved.
