NSA Breaks Ground on 12B Utah Data Center

National Security Administration has broken ground on its $1.2 billion data center in Utah.
First announced in July 2009, the facility is being constructed by a joint venture team led by DPR Construction, Big-D Construction and Balfour Beatty Construction.
Officially named the Utah Data Center, the 1.5-million-square-foot data center is located at Fort Williams in Utah.
The US Army Corps of Engineers and NSA are hosting a joint groundbreaking ceremony Thursday for the first Intelligence Community Comprehensive National Cyber-security Initiative Data Center.
"This will bring 5,000 to 10,000 new jobs during its construction and development phase," said Senator Orrin Hatch, R-Utah. "Once completed, it will support 100 to 200 permanent high-paid employees."
