Colocation Firm Interxion Powering Brussels Data Center with Renewable Energy

Colocation provider Interxion (www.interxion.com) announced on Wednesday that it is now powering its BRU1 data center in Brussels, Belgium with 100 renewable energy.
The company partnered with its energy supplier to ensure that its Brussels data center now sources all of its energy from renewable sources such a solar, wind and hydroelectric power.
The announcement comes just two months after environmental organization Greenpeace released a study that highlighted the rapidly growing environmental footprint of the IT industry, where it criticized companies for "ignoring the importance of using renewable power as a top criterion for locating new infrastructure and is not transparent in disclosing its energy use."
