Get your slice of ComEd's US$0.5m for data centers

ComEd, the largest utility in the State of Illinois, has set aside US$500,000 to give data center operators that go the extra mile and invest in better energy efficiency of their facilities.
The data center portion of the utility's energy efficiency rebate program, called Smart Ideas for Your Business, is in a pilot stage, Robert Jericho, senior energy efficiency program manger at ComEd said.
ComEd's goal is for the program to push its data center customers to reduce energy consumption by a minimum of 6,500MWh.
Jericho is speaking at the upcoming DatacenterDynamics conference in Chicago on 6 October. He will present alongside Michael Taylor and John Greco of KEMA, one of the companies ComEd partnered with to deliver the energy efficiency program for data centers.
