Trans Atlantic cable Iceland landing point identified

Iceland's ThorDC and trans Atlantic cable company Emerald Express Trans-Atlantic Cable System announced the Iceland landing point in Grindavik, Reykjanes, Iceland which is set to be launched in December 2012.
The planned 100x100 Gbps network will link North America and Europe with landing points in New Foundland Canada and Ireland and with a spur connecting Iceland.
"The Emerald Express System includes a high capacity connection to Iceland, allowing Iceland based data center ThorDC to offer ultra low latency connections to Europe and North America, the other landing points are positioned off Newfoundland and Ireland. The trans-Atlantic marine cable route survey commenced in early August and the Emerald Express System is planned to enter service in December 2012," a statement said.
