Steven Chu's Gamble on Green Energy For better or worse, Steven Chu, President Obama’s Nobel-prize winning Secretary of Energy, is likely to have greater influence over the world’s future energy economy than any other single person alive today. In the past two years, Chu has orchestrated the most significant public investment in energy innovation in U.S. history. The objective is transforming today’s high-carbon, low-efficiency energy systems into tomorrow’s low-carbon, high-efficiency systems.
