QTS data center in Atlanta gets LEED Gold
Colocation services provider QTS received a LEED Gold certification for its mega-data center in the Atlanta metropolitan area. The company bought the 990,000 sq ft facility in 2007, after which it implemented a number of measures to increase its energy efficiency.
These included collecting rainwater to supplement water supply for the cooling system among other improvements, which collectively reduced the data center’s Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) by 11.4%.
