Uptime Institute Study Finds Asia Leads Data Center Growth, Public Cloud Adoption in 2012
Data center research firm Uptime Institute released results from its second annual data center survey on Wednesday, which finds Asia is leading data center growth and public cloud adoption. According to the survey, 86 percent of companies have built a site in Asia recently, and 35 percent are running into capacity constraints in existing sites. On Tuesday, data center provider Equinix completed its acquisition of Hong Kong-based data center firm Asia Tone to strengthen its position in Asia-Pacific, Equinix’s fastest growing region.
