New Bill Would Require Federal Agencies to Report Cloud Computing Progress
A bipartisan bill introduced in the Senate last month would require federal agencies to submit annual reports on their progress migrating their infrastructure to cloud computing, according to a report by Nextgov. Replacing the practice of storing data on in-house servers with using affordable cloud storage technologies can help save the government $5 billion annually by moving just 25 percent of its IT budget to the cloud.
