As enterprises look to reduce energy costs and improve energy efficiency and environmental friendliness, one element they are considering is implementation of some form of passive cooling. These strategies work with airflow to boost efficiency, lowering the need for additional CRAC units or air conditioners. However, it’s not always so simple to just put in a few extra ducts. Passive cooling involves several tactics and some extra effort and time from IT staff, but the payoff could be a lower-cost center that is cooled properly.
