    1. Scottish Data Center Village Raises $1B Internet Villages International said this week that it has secured nearly $1 billion in financial backing for its planned 3 million square foot “data center village” in Annandale, Scotland. The company also said it will partner with APC by Schneider, which will provide the technology and infrastructure for multiple data centers on an initial 125-acre phase of the development. IVI’s long-range plans for the campus, known as ALBA1, include more than 3 million square feet of data center space with a total development cost of 1 billion pounds ($1.6 billion). Internet Villages did not identify the investor who had committed to provide 600 million pounds ($979 million) to back the project. One of the major marketing points for IVI and Scotland locations is the ability to design a data center around renewable energy sources. (Read Full Article)
