Jeff Monroe is  Chief Executive Officer at Verne Global.

Jeff Monroe has been in the data center industry for more than 15 years.  Mr. Monroe has been involved in all aspects of data center development and operations and has put in place some of the largest and most sophisticated data centers in the industry, with a total value exceeding $1.8Bil USD.

Prior to Verne Global, Mr. Monroe was a co-founder of the DuPont Fabros Technology wholesale data center business, serving as Managing Director.  Mr. Monroe was responsible for developing and implementing the wholesale operational model and was instrumental in all aspects of the business.  This included data center strategy, acquisitions, design, construction, operations, leasing and business development.

Prior to Dupont Fabros Technology, Mr. Monroe served as Vice President of Real Estate, Design, Construction and Director of Operations for AboveNet Communications.  During his tenure he was responsible for the deployment of twenty-four class A domestic and international technical facilities.  Mr. Monroe also assisted in the business development of AboveNet’s international Joint Ventures in London, Frankfurt, Austria, Amsterdam and Japan.  Mr. Monroe was the data center lead on large customer accounts including Microsoft, JP Morgan Chase and Duesche Bank and was directly responsible for the operations that supported more than five hundred collocation customers.

Prior to AboveNet Communications, Mr. Monroe has managed the build-out of some of the largest technical projects in the US such as The New National Archives, a 1.7 Million sq. ft. archival storage facility for GSA; The IRS Headquarters, a 1.2 Million sq. ft. complex including the primary IRS data center; The NRO US Satellite Tracking Facility, a 1.2 Million sq. ft. state-of-the-art technical facility; the primary data centers for America Online totaling more than 400,000 sq. ft. 

Mr. Monroe has extensive design and construction experience and holds Journeyman electrical licenses in Washington DC and Virginia and has completed the four year IBEW apprenticeship in applied electrical engineering and construction in addition to studies in Business Management and Business Law.  Mr. Monroe has been a keynote speaker and panelist at events such as the Electrical Power Research Institute’s Annual Forum, Data Center Dynamics and the IDC Next Generation Data Center conferences.
