      Congressmen and governor state positions on climate change Virginia's congressional delegation and Gov. Bob McDonnell respond to a Times-Dispatch survey on climate change. Rep. Robert J. Wittman (R-1st): As a scientist myself, I recognize that the earth’s climate is changing. We must recognize that these climactic cycles of heating and cooling have been going on well before man appeared on earth. Humans across the globe contribute greenhouse gases to the atmosphere. The questions then become, how much does man affect carbon levels in the atmosphere and to what extent does this affect climate change. We need to examine and take into account all factors, both those induced by humans and those occurring naturally, that contribute to the level of carbon in the atmosphere. (Read Full Article)
