Custodian Data Centre uses fresh air cooling & overhead supply to become the most efficient shared data centre in Europe.
Custodian Data Centre, based at The Maidstone TV Studios in Kent, are using 5 times less energy than conventional data centres to run their cooling infrastructure. As holder of The Data Centre Leaders Green Data Centre award, they are a fine example of how most facilities could achieve greater efficiencies with a fresh approach to cooling. The impressive thing is that these figures are achieved in a colocation environment where a variety of clients needs have to be met, as opposed to a single client site. The system has been designed to cope with the high power density (64+ Amps per rack) that is available within the facility.
