      Two Bloom Energy Servers Trialled at Target

      Target Corporation, the second-largest discount retailer in the United States behind Walmart, is trialling Bloom Energy fuel cells at two of its California stores, in San Francisco and Pasadena. The trial forms part of a wider initiative to investigate on-site energy generation at Target stores; the company currently uses roof-mounted solar panels at 26 of its stores.

      Bloom Energy has officially broken ground at its new manufacturing centre in Newark, Delaware on the East Coast of the USA. The facility will be located on a 272 acre site formerly occupied by a Chrysler assembly plant which is now owned and used by the University of Delaware as its new Science, Technology and Advanced Research Campus. The new site will complement Bloom’s existing manufacturing facility at its headquarters in Sunnyvale, California on the West Coast, where more than 1,000 jobs have been created. When complete the new facility will double Bloom’s production capacity and create as many as 900 new jobs in Delaware.
