Here are a couple of links that provide a closer look at two of the leading data center container products. Digi.no has a video tour of IBM’s Portable Modular Data Center. The introduction is in Norwegian, but the tour by IBM’s Brian Canney is in English. The video features a tour of a 20-foot container, but IBM also offers 40-foot and 53-foot versions of the container. This video runs about 13 minutes.
Over at The Hot Aisle, Steve O’Donnell provides a look inside a Verari FOREST container loaded with 26 petabytes of disk storage. “I wonder if this is the highest density storage platform on the planet?” Steve writes. Here’s more on the FOREST container (which also comes in 20-footand 40-foot versions) and some deployment options. For more coverage of ”data center in a box” offerings, see our Data Center Container Channel.
