New Anti-Piracy Law in Japan Prosecutes Downloaders, Could Impact ISPs
A new anti-piracy law went into effect in Japan on Monday that would see downloaders of copyright-infringing material face up to two years in prison, or a fine of more than $25,000. According to a report by Naked Security, this copyright law could mean prosecution for a person simply viewing a pirated music video on YouTube.
